Hey my loves…how’ve you all been? Hope great? Well, I can’t wait to tell you how my summer has been going so far! Well…I’ve got a story to tell you!ππππ½ββοΈ…soooo this summer, my family and I travelled for our summer vacation to Miami,Florida..and we all know how blazing hot the sun gets during summer in Miami…so this summer, the weather was,as usual super hot!…so hot that you couldn’t stay in the sun for so long..LOL..so yesterday morning, my dear sister and I decided to go jogging around the park close to our apartment at bayshore to keep our summer bodies *wink* since we’d been feeding on some junk foods of late..LOL..so we decided to go with our gym shorts and gym bra tops you know?..exposing some skinππ..then we decided not to put sunscreen since we didn’t want to stay out too long jogging..maximum of 2hours(boot camp)..and voila..we went with all confidence ππ½ββοΈ..but unfortunately the sun wasn’t kind to us in any wayπ’..staying out in the sun for the first hour got us our most dreaded fear..guess?…….SUNBURNS!π’π’π’I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when I got back home ..our skin..burnedπ..well so I did a little research on how to protect your skin during this summer in addition to what I already know so as to share with you guys so you don’t go through what we went through π..let’s go!
First, Sunscreen! Yes my loves!don’t ever underestimate the power of sunscreen…it will help shield your skin from the harmful rays from the sun which causes sunburns and premature aging of the skin!well I personally prefer sunscreen with a higher spf because here in Miami, the sun is a little unkind to my skin and I love me some sunscreen with zinc oxide as it does a great job! And it’s safe to say to choose a brand that protects your skin from both UVA rays(which are tanning rays which penetrate deep into the skin causing tan lines) and UVB rays (which damage the outer epidermis of the skin)..also, it is said that the sunscreen in form of a lotion is more effective than that in form of a spray ..as it tends to last longer and protects your skin more from direct sunlight.
Second, application of sunscreen should be at least after every two hours and should be reapplied every one hour when swimming or sweating so as to replace the already melted sunscreen on the skin reducing its effectiveness
Third, application of after sun lotion as this will help soothe the skin..so this is being applied to your skin after your skin has been exposed(especially for a long time in the sun)
Fourth, Limit the amount of time you’re in the sun.. even if you’re wearing sunscreen..I think it’s better to look for the nearest shade to shield yourself when in the sun
Fifth, also loves, there tends to be some medications that can make your skin more sensitive to the sun causing it to burn faster.Medications like blood pressure medications, anti fungal medications also ..could make you more sensitive to sunlight so studies show it’s more advisable to be mindful of the medication you take before going in the sun
Sixth, wear full loose clothings that shield your skin from the sun…well I know you might be wondering..’it’s summer, why would I want to wear a full clothing which can cause more heat?’..well I suggested this because it’s an effective way to protect your skin from the sun..and it’s suggestive to wear clothings which are full and loose..
Seventh, you could enhance yourself with a hat that shades your face, ears, neck from the sun ..you could also use a pair of sunglasses …as this will keep your eyes safe and prevent you from squinting which could cause facial lines..
Well, I hope this few tips will definitely help you protect your skin from the sun..and guess what? They are inexpensive too! Please don’t forget to subscribe so as to be updated on more tips! Oh and your suggestions are highly welcome ππ½ ..we could learn from each otherπ..bye for now π..my sister and I are still trying to heal from the sunburns
